RunFit Essex - Experienced, Qualified and Insured UK Athletics Running Coaches

RunFit Essex, established in 2014 by Jana and Richard, is an exciting addition to health and fitness. We share the same passion for sport as a healthy way of life and have joined forces to deliver a variety of training sessions to support all your fitness goals. We are UK Athletics Qualified Running Coaches with over 30 years of running experience between us.

One of the best ways to enjoy running is with a group making new friends in the process. Running with other people is a great motivator for both new and experienced runners! Your first steps into a new fitness regime can be the most difficult and sometimes daunting, but with our positive approach and encouragement we will help you overcome this barrier in no time. With years of running, our aim is to share our experience with you and make sure you enjoy running as much as we do. Regardless if you are a complete beginner or run regularly, you will benefit from one of our group sessions. We aim to design fun, varied and social sessions that any runner of any ability can turn up to and feel right at home and enjoy.

 

We also offer bespoke 1-2-1 coaching, small group sessions, junior sessions, training plans and corporate sessions.

Richard and Jana are passionate about their running and this shines through with their encouragement, technique support and injury prevention knowledge. JANA WILKINS - Running Coach

As a qualified and experienced Running Coach and Fitness Professional, Jana is working with runners of all abilities - individuals (on a 1:1 basis), groups as well as corporates.

 

After completing her first half marathon in Hong Kong about 15 years ago, running became a big part of her life and has been ever since. The Singapore Half Marathon, Stockholm Marathon as well as the London Marathon are just a few that has been added to the list since. Jana has a extensive experience in helping runners of all abilities to reach their goals and support them achieve their best. Jana also recently qualified as a Visual Impaired Guide Runner.

RICHARD NATION - Running Coach / Athletics Coach

With over 20 years running experience Richard Co founded RunFit Essex with Jana in 2014. Richard delivers running groups and personalised coaching for runners and athletes of all ages and fitness levels. He also has considerable experience working for Chelmsford A.C., Primary schools, Athletics 4 Performance, as well as RunFit Essex.

 

Richard soon got the running and athletics bug, and he gained UKA Coach qualification in 2010. In 2012 Richard made coaching his full time profession and is passionate about trying to get the very best out of his athletes what ever their age or ability. His UKA qualifications and extensive experience enables him to bring a wide range of knowledge to his clients. Richard has enjoyed competing in over 150 races over the years including 5 London Marathons and 20 half marathons.

 

Richard is working with athletes of all ages and fitness levels helping them achieve their goals and aspirations, to date he has supported numerous clients on their journey towards their race / fitness goals from 5k to the marathon distance and bejond supporting them every step of the way.

 

Richard also has an exciting extensive portfolio of junior athletes who's achievments include representing their county/country in major competition, winning Essex County Cross Country championships, sports scholarships for their chosen school, to name but a few.

DAVID CHURCH - Running Leader

We are pleased to have David joining our RunFit Essex team.

 

David has always been physically active, enjoying a variety of sports including basketball, football, tennis and snooker. In June 2011 he decided to run his first race, a half marathon in his hometown of Southend-on-Sea. Since then, running has become an addiction.

 

His racing events range from 5km to marathons and include the 2011 Chicago Half Marathon. As a running leader David now wants to share his passion and inspire others to progress on their fitness journeys.
