RunFit Essex - Experienced, Qualified and Insured UK Athletics Running Coaches

RunFit Essex,  was established in 2014 by Jana and Richard. Sharing the same passion for running, sports and a healthy way of living they joined forces to deliver a variety of training sessions to support any fitness goals. They are both UK Athletics Qualified Running Coaches with over 30 years of running experience between them. David joined RunFit Essex in 2018 and has been a great addition to the team. 

  

One of the best ways to enjoy running is  with a group making new friends in the process. Running with other people is a great motivator for both new and experienced runners! Your first steps into a new fitness regime can be the most difficult and sometimes daunting, but with our positive approach and encouragement we will help you overcome this barrier in no time. With years of running, our aim is to share our experience with you and make sure you enjoy running as much as we do. Regardless if you are a complete beginner or run regularly, you will benefit from one of our group sessions.  We aim to design fun, varied and social sessions that any runner of any ability can turn up to and feel right at home and enjoy.


We also offer bespoke 1-2-1 coaching, small group sessions, junior sessions, training plans and corporate sessions.

JANA WILKINS - Running Coach / Fitness Instructor /Guide Runner

As a highly qualified and experienced UK Athletics Running Coach and YMCA Fitness Professional, Jana  Co founded RunFit Essex with Richard in 2014. Jana delivers a wide range of structured running sessions to corporates as well as groups and individual clients. In addition to the running sessions, having also designed tailored training plans ranging from couch-5k to ultra marathon distance, Jana has helped many runners achieve their goals over the years. 


Growing up in Sweden and having lived and worked in places like Cuba, Venezela, Hong Kong and Singapore,  running has always proven to be a sport she could rely on and practise anywhere in the world.     

Apart from being a running coach,  Jana is also working as a Kids Bootcamp Instructor to inspire the younger generation to get moving.

RICHARD NATION - Running Coach / Athletics Coach


With over 20 years running experience Richard Co-founded RunFit Essex with Jana in 2014. Richard delivers running groups and personalised coaching for runners and athletes of all ages and fitness levels. He also has considerable experience working for Chelmsford A.C., Primary schools and Athletics 4 Performance.



Richard started his coaching journey back in 2010 and has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. Richard is working with athletes of all ages and fitness levels helping them achieve their goals and aspirations. He has supported numerous clients on their journey including, junior Sports Scholarships; race / fitness goals from 5k to the marathon distance and beyond, supporting them every step of the way.

Richard has an exciting extensive portfolio of junior athletes whose achievements include representing their school, club and county in major competition for a wide range of athletic disciplines. Their achievements include winning Essex County Cross Country championships, Westminster mile and track & field.

 


Qualifications:  UK Athletics Running Coach Level 3 - UK Athletics multi event coach Level 3 – ‘Premier’ Personal Trainer Level 3 - Diet and Nutrition Advisor Level 3, and Sports Psychology Level 3

DAVID CHURCH - Running Coach

We are pleased to have David  joining our RunFit Essex team. 


David has always been physically active, enjoying a variety of sports including basketball,  football, tennis and snooker. In June 2011 he decided to run his first race, a half marathon in his hometown of Southend-on-Sea. Since then, running has become an addiction.


His racing events range from 5km to marathons and include the 2011 Chicago Half Marathon. As a running leader David now wants to share his passion and inspire others to progress on their fitness journeys.
